Help with army?

Quickly before people get the wrong idea from the title i'm not asking for supplies only advice.

I recently (two days ago) came across this game and after a couple hours I knew I wanted to play this from now on. Although at the minute the game is slow I'm hoping once i'm no longer beige (12.8 days) and grow my nation it will be more about...well... politics and war. Currently it's just wait for money and build a supermarket. My concern is when i'm no longer beige a massive chunk of the game will open up for me and I won't know what to do as I have been thrown in the deep end. My problem is lack of experience, for instance how often will people attack me?, how big does my army have to be?, do I send my enemy's a video of me doing a handstand on a donkey?. I don't know much about the mechanics of fighting in this game and would love any advice I could get.

Is that because
1. the GPA will protect me if someone does attack me
or
2. they will go and attack me, realize i'm in the GPA and decide not to because they know I will have back up and they will likely come off worse

If I wasn't in the GPA would they see me as being weak and attack me?


Final question, how often do people use the forums? I've seen no one else other than about 6 members who I see repeatedly but they all seem to be on the Agency Council or Board of Directors is there any just 'regular' members?

To answer the first question, its both. The GPA will do everything within it's power to protect you in the event of an attack. Also, most nations and alliances generally try to avoid active conflict with the "Neutral Menace" as we are so called. It is in my personal opinion that being in the GPA will give you an aura of strength that you may normally not have in other alliances.

As for the second question, the vast majority of forum-active members are government members, but rest assured that there are plenty of people that actively visit the forums, they just don't post as much unlike us government people.
