Only time will tell. At least for the most part, the imports seem to finally consider themselves members of Cobalt, and Cobalt their home, so some good came from this at least.

Yeah, after all, without unity throughout the alliance, they usually fall apart.

Very true! Interestingly enough, up until the merge we've had consistently like a 130% retention rate overall since November. It's pretty impressive, actually!

That is impressive. Now if only the GPA can get retention rate that high...

Right now our retention rate is atrocious, but we're working on it again.

Rose has decided they are unable or at the very least unwilling to work through whatever problems they feel exist with our relationship, so they've gone ahead and informed us they're cancelling on us. https://politicsandwar.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11275-a-broken-heart/

Re: Cobalt Clique's Embassy

Truthfully we were a little blindsided. On the one hand, I did expect that it would happen. On the other, though, we've been insanely active and proactive in communicating with them, updating them, keeping them in the loop. The fact that my predecessor didn't update them prior to my resuming leadership was an unfortunate happenstance that I've done everything in my power to resolve. I'm hugely active in this embassy, so you can imagine how active I am in Rose's as they are, or were I should say, our highest level ally.

Then there's the IRC and Skype. I asked Abbas to join us for the first of our weekly Skype Staff meetings so that he could hear exactly what we were thinking, hear exactly what our plans were, and be able to also voice his input on behalf of Rose, as well as himself. He sent Keegoz, who showed up two hours late after the staff meeting had been over for half an hour. We had an impromptu followup, and he seemed fairly ambivalent. As far as IRC was concerned, Pub said that he wanted to let the past stay in the past, and Rob's and my interactions with Rose gov was always pleasant and at least as far as I could tell, positive. They were completely understanding that we weren't in the position to help them out in war, and I even offered to honor our agreement and obligation to defend them. They told me that wouldn't be necessary.

Regarding our situation with Arrgh, I've held off on asking them for any semblance of support because I know they need to focus internally and rebuild. I was told that while the coalition as a whole had won, Rose had taken a huge beating. I don't know how accurate that is, but I do know that from even before I officially resumed leadership, I've done everything I can to ensure that our relationship kept on, and was positive. I also wanted to make sure that we were valuable allies, and equals. I was worried that if they felt that the relationship was lopsided, with them taking on more of the defending role and us just asking them for help, or if we weren't able to hold up our end, it would lead to less of a mutual treaty, and more like a protectorate, which isn't fair or responsible.

So yes, I was completely blindsided.

At this point, my only guess is they decided to pull the trigger when they did so we couldn't get any ideas about invoking the MD clause in asking them to support our fight with Arrgh.

Cobalt has officially disbanded. Our members have decided it's time that we as a community seek our fortunes elsewhere. The game's most prolific bully has been bullied into submission, and extinction. I kid. In all reality though, we decided that as an alliance it was time we changed scenery. Nothing sinister to be had, we just wanted a change of pace.

Sorry to hear about Cobalt disbanding Grealind. It's always sad when an alliance disbands.

I wish you and your former alliance mates the best of luck in finding a new home!
